Precon/Project Intern

  • A supportive role that will contribute to both spheres of project estimating and project management. This unique opportunity will give those with construction related backgrounds the ability to dabble in both areas to help them better determine where they would like their career paths to go. They may be better adapt at price negotiations, relationship management, and drawing/spec analysis, which will gear them towards estimating. They may be better at organization and coordinating manufacturing leads and delivery, labor management, and contract doc controls, making them better suited for project management by performing low-risk tasks that supports these existing roles, interns will gain some hands on experience and exposure to both areas.
  • Rates range from $12/hr-$15/hr depending on prior experience and education in this field.
  •  Part-time hours with flexibility to accommodate school schedules if needed.
  • Internships last for 4-6 months, depending  on current work cycle of the company and requirements of educational institutions should this internship qualify them for education credits.

Permit Clerk

Pay Rate: $11.00 - $12.50 p/h

  • Must have previous PERMIT experience
  • Experience with working with Counties and how the process work
  • Receive various construction permit applications and other forms from a variety of sources
  • High School or GED equivalent – Preferred
  • Bilingual is a PLUS
  • Must be flexible to work Saturdays
  • Two (2) years of progressive experience with permits
  • Responsible for data processing, permit processing, and data gathering.

Direct Hire | salary up to 100K

This position is responsible for performing detailed review and analysis of construction applications for payment prior to payment for an on-going $2.8 billion construction program delivered through a Construction Management project delivery approach

Candidate must have AT LEAST 5 years of construction invoicing experience, ideally working for a Construction Manager entity or a General Contractor or an owner implementing large-scale construction programs

Candidate will be responsible for reviewing invoices for appropriate documentation and contract compliance, resolving issues, and formulating recommendation for payment and will be part of a larger contract compliance group

Candidate will be responsible for reviewing invoice backup documentation including, but not limited to, subcontractors and material suppliers invoices, equipment rental agreements, timesheets, labor rates, and other relevant document supporting the invoice amount

Candidate will be the point of contact for vendor inquires and will communicate with multiple work groups to ensure proper documentation is obtained and recorded

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Able to follow defined invoice review procedures and instructions and exception handling processes
  • Able to read and understand construction contract provisions related to invoice processing/payment and translate them into actionable compliance testing
  • Able to monitor approvals for contracts/contract amendments related to the invoices
  • Able to determine that invoice to be paid has all required contract authorizations
  • Able to understand the scope of work associated with the construction project being billed
  • Able to work with different environments handling multiple vendors and contracts for each invoice
  • Able to establish a strong working relationship with the client and vendors to facilitate communication and resolution of issues identified during the invoice review process
  • Able to find and identify non-compliance issues and formulate in a concise and accurate manner the findings and associated cost impacts identified during the review
  • Able to describe the issues and request the appropriate actions
  • Able to match purchase orders with the invoices
  • Able to maintain work papers (electronic and paper) to document the review, findings, reviewed amounts, and recommendations for payment
  • Able to create and manipulate spreadsheets
  • Able to maintain accurate and timely invoice tracking logs
  • Able to work independently, but seek appropriate guidance and clarification
  • Able to collaborate effectively with the other members of the project team


  • Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in reviewing/processing construction invoices/payment applications

  • Previous knowledge of the construction industry is a MUST
  • Experience with Construction Management project delivery approach required
