CAMP OBJECTIVES

  • Introduce young girls to female role models including: tradeswomen, engineers, architects, project managers, superintendents, lawyers, business owners, and administrative support.
  • Provide a supportive and nurturing environment for girls to explore and develop basic skills in carpentry, electrical, fire sprinkler, painting, taping, glazing, and laboring.
  • Offer girls a gender neutral environment to learn and practice new skills without fear of being teased or isolated.
  • Develops a Safety First attitude and a "We Can Do It" mindset.
  • Introduces girls to apprenticeship programs and scholarship opportunities

CONSTRUCTION CAREER CAMP

The Greater Orlando Chapter presents a week long summer day camp to introduce female high school students to the construction industry as a viable career option. They are exposed to many facets of the industry from professional careers such as architect, engineer, project manager to skilled trades such as carpenter, electrician, etc. as well as support roles in sales, accounting, etc. Event sponsor Orange County Public Schools hosts the campers and chapter members participate as camp counselors and mentors.

CCC - Construction Career Camp  provides a supportive and nurturing environment for high school girls to explore and develop basic skills in the areas of carpentry, electrical and HVAC/plumbing free of charge.  

 

  • CCC offers high school girls a gender-neutral environment to learn and practice new skills without fear of being teased or isolated.

  • Develops greater self confidence and better self esteem for girls who tackle challenging projects and successfuly complete them.

  • Develops a safety first attitude and "we can do it" mindset
